The Octopus by Goni Montes and Sel Balamir
Scroll through to check out the evolution of the Octopus!
Montes worked with Balamir of Amplifier on a series of images for the second volume of their album project called The Octopus. Sel’s plan was to create a sequence of paintings inspired by fractal imagery. Montes said that this was the most personal project he had ever executed.
EDIT: Goni Montes has a Tumblr. If you like his style you can follow him there :)
This is incredible!!
So I never did get a chance to upload that art piece I was telling you guys about! Hah! I even changed my theme for the blog by accident XD
I’ve actually been going through a lot of very straining mental turmoil. I figured out what was stopping me from reaching my full potential— not just with art, but everything. I also realized a lot what my art is lacking and am taking the necessary steps to improve.
I’ve been doing a lot of gesture drawings, figure drawing, just loose fun drawing. I’ve also been thinking about what direction I need to take for my art pieces. My worst mistake of all is trying to create art and not have even an idea in mind. No direction at all. I think by focusing on this more, and less on the actual art piece being “good” or “perfect” to my standards that it will help A LOT.
I will try to get some sketches up this weekend of what I have been up to. I will be working this weekend though— and this monday I start mandatory 11 hour days. Between that and a dog, and a relationship, I don’t know how much art time I will get during the week…all I can say is I will TRY. :)
Anyway, here’s to hoping for the best!!!
A great tool for artists….has poses for both male and female— nude or clothed.
